Safeport law offers two tiers of service, which cover the primary elements of credit repair. The attorneys at Safeport Law attempt to improve customers’ credit scores by filing disputes with the credit bureaus (and interventions with creditors) to challenge any inaccurate information uncovered in your credit score analysis. Safeport Law also sends cease and desist letters.
Safeport Law offers 24/7 online progress tracking to help customers follow the status of their credit repair journey. You can log in to your online account to see a timeline and progress report.

Review information accurate as of March 28, 2025.
Most of the positive reviews posted on the company’s Google and BBB review pages relate to how helpful the customer service representatives are. Safeport Law appears to be exceptional at answering customers' questions and explaining how the process works.
It is common for customers to leave negative feedback for credit repair companies if their credit scores do not improve. However, this is not always the company’s fault. Remember, no credit repair company can remove negative items that are accurate and verifiable.
Safeport Law does not appear to have any pending legal issues. A search of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau’s consumer complaints database shows no complaints for the company and the Federal Trade Commission has not published warnings about the Safeport Law.
Lexington Law is Safeport’s closest competitor as it also uses attorneys to provide credit repair services. Lexington Law offers one package, priced at $139.95 per month, which includes the Unlike Safeport Law, the Lexington Law website features photos and bios of its attorneys. However, Lexington Law does not offer a money-back guarantee and is not available to residents of Oregon.
CreditRepair.com offers three plan tiers, with prices ranging from $49.95 to $119.95 per month. The low-priced tier includes services that are similar to those provided by Safeport Law.
Both companies offer credit bureau challenges and creditor interventions. However, Safeport provides credit score monitoring while CreditRepair.com’s low-priced package provides credit score updates only quarterly. Conversely, CreditRepair.com offers ID theft insurance while Safeport does not.
Unlike Safeport Law, CreditRepair.com does not offer a money-back guarantee or promote the use of attorneys in the credit repair process.
The Credit Pros offers more services than Safeport at a comparable price. Of the Credit Pros’ three packages, the $129-per-month Repair Credit plan is the most similar to Safeport’s offerings. In addition to the services offered by Safeport, The Credit Pros plan includes cease-and-desist letters, letters of reference, dark web monitoring, fraud alerts, bill reminders, debt payoff plans and budgeting systems.

To evaluate the best credit repair companies, the Bankrate team evaluated the following factors:
Yes, Safeport Law is a legitimate credit repair company. Safeport Law is accredited by the Better Business Bureau, which means the BBB has reviewed the business and believes it to be an ethical operation.
Credit repair is not inherently scammy. It is a legitimate service that aims to help people increase their credit scores by correcting inaccurate, outdated or misleading data on their credit reports.
However, consumers should be cautious of credit repair scams operated by fraudulent credit repair companies that promise specific results or demand excessive upfront payments.
It depends on your credit situation, but in most cases, customers should only need to work with a credit repair company for a few months. During that time, the company should challenge any inaccurate records with the credit bureaus and intervene with creditors to clear up any disputes — and then its work is done.
If you have valid, severe marks on your credit history (such as bankruptcy or foreclosure), it can potentially take seven to 10 years for your credit score to recover. This recovery will happen over time, as a credit repair company cannot remove accurate negative information.
Anything a legitimate credit repair company can do, you’re allowed to do on your own. Under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, you have the right to dispute errors on your credit report, and there’s no fee for doing so.
However, do-it-yourself credit repair can be time-consuming, especially if you have a lot of errors on your report. Hiring a credit repair company could help you save time and stress.
