Enjoy the stage magic of ‘Harry Potter and the Cursed Child’

Fans can enter the Golden Snitch Digital Lottery every week through Dec. 14 for a chance to win discount tickets.

With “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child” set to premiere in Boston on Nov. 9, the Emerson Colonial Theatre has announced The Golden Snitch Digital Lottery.

Fans are able to enter the weekly lottery until 9:30 a.m. every Friday (including this Friday, Nov. 7), with winners receiving the option of discounted tickets for the following week’s shows.

This lottery will run every week through Dec. 12, as the show runs until Dec. 20.

Lottery entries can be submitted through the TodayTix app, with other tickets being available on the Emerson Colonial Theatre website.

Winners will be able to purchase two tickets for $40 each, but will have a limited amount of time to claim the discount.

“Harry Potter and the Cursed Child,” written by J.K. Rowling, Jack Thorne, and John Tiffany, is the eighth story in the Harry Potter series, and the first to be on stage. Taking place 19 years after the final book, the beloved Harry, Ron, and Hermione return to take part in a new adventure.

Along with the three famous characters, Harry’s son is beginning at Hogwarts, and seemingly will follow in his father’s footsteps getting involved in trying to save the world.

Beginning in 2016, this play became a sensation, having sold 10 million tickets worldwide. It currently holds the Guinness World Record for the highest grossing non-musical on Broadway, bringing in over $270 million in sales.

“Harry Potter and the Cursed Child” has been around the world, including London, Hamburg, Tokyo, and others. Along the journey, the play has won six Tony Awards, including Best Play, and nine Laurence Olivier Awards, including Best New Play.

Harry Potter and theatre fans alike will look forward to seeing this on-stage production, and see where the wizarding world takes Harry and his friends this time.
