He added that "masks are also required on school buses."
"We expect everyone to comply with the mask requirement," Mack said. "We also expect the district and school administration to fully implement this requirement without denying any student access to school and their education."
A mask mandate in the city of Charleston failed on Tuesday after a heated city council meeting, which took place one day after the Charleston County School District voted to implement a mask requirement.
The Post and Courier reported that the Charleston City Council failed to pass an emergency ordinance that would have mandated masks inside public and private schools and daycares across the city after dozens of speakers, mostly those opposed to the measure, addressed the council.
At the city council meeting on Tuesday night Regan spoke out against mask mandates saying, "I urge to you cease all attempts at mandating masks for us or our children."
She went on to say that she will not comply with a mandate and neither will her children.
Speaking on "Fox & Friends" on Thursday, Regan said that she has seen what masks do to children.
"There’s more to a child's health and wellness beyond just whether they’re physically healthy," she said. "It's mentally, it's cognitively, it's socially and we don't know what the long-term effects are going to be with these masks on our children."
She went on to note that her children are also against wearing masks in school.
"My son has a speech delay and this is a huge challenge and an obstacle for him," Regan told Doocy, noting that parents and students only got about 36 hours of notice before the school year had started "that the school district went against the state and implemented" the mask mandate.

"I think the teachers are scrambling, the principals are scrambling and there’s a lot of confusion right now," she said.
