NBA trade deadline: Kevin Durant has 'no desire' to return to Warriors
The NBA's trade season is in full swing now that a majority of players who signed contracts in the offseason are trade-eligible for the first time this season.
While the Luka Doncic-Anthony Davis trade sent shock waves through the NBA, that doesn't necessarily mean that there will be a flurry of more deals between now and the NBA trade deadline on Feb. 6. But that won't stop the rumor mill from churning until then.
Here are the latest NBA trade rumors:
Feb. 5: Durant not interested in Warriors reunion
Amid rumors that the ESPN reported that Durant has "no interest" in returning to San Francisco, where he won two NBA championships in 2017 and 2018.
Not only does this mean that the Warriors have to cross another star off of their list of trade targets, but it also means the Suns are running out trade partners for a potential Jimmy Butler deal.
Feb. 4: At least 3 teams are showing interest in Durant
The Durant rumors are picking up steam as the deadline nears, and several teams are said to be interested in the 15-time All-Star selection. The Houston Rockets and Golden State Warriors. However, the Rockets don't seem willing to change the chemistry on their young team, Jonathan Kuminga, in any potential deal that brings KD back to the Bay Area.
Feb. 3: Suns "listening" to Kevin Durant offers
The Suns are unlikely to move Durant, but they're at least "Lakers
Soon after it came to light that Anthony Davis was being sent to Dallas, reports came out that LeBron James wasn't even given a heads-up about the Lakers trading away his friend and teammate. That led to speculation that the 40-year-old legend would soon be on the move, too.
However, Phoenix Suns and Chris Haynes previously reported.
Butler doesn't have a no-trade clause in his contract. However, he has a player option in his contract that allows him to opt of his contract this summer, making him a flight risk for a team he isn't immediately keen on signing an extension with.
Jan. 28: Randle on the move?
The Heat have their eyes on New York Knicks traded him to the Timberwolves in September, according to SNY.
Randle is in the final year of his contract and is set to become a free agent this offseason. He's struggled to fit in offensively with the Timberwolves.
Jan. 28: Who is interested in Ingram?
The New Orleans Pelicans opt to move him, longtime NBA insider Marc Stein reported. Ingram's name has been involved in trade rumors for much of the season as he's in the final year of his contract. He's been out with an ankle injury since the start of December, playing a role in the Pelicans' standing toward the bottom of the league this season.
As for the Raptors, they want to add a "significant piece" to their roster as they're also among the bottom of the league in wins, The Athletic reported.
Beal has been at the center of trade rumors in recent weeks, with speculation surrounding him even if he isn't moved for Butler. Beal would be willing to waive his no-trade clause if he's traded to a winning team, but he doesn't have interest in playing for a team in a cold weather environment, The Athletic added in its report. Beal would also be comfortable remaining in Phoenix, according to HoopsHype.
Now in his second season with the Suns, Beal has averaged the second-lowest scoring mark of his career. Additionally, he was moved to the bench in the first week of January.
Jan. 27: What Chicago wants for Vucevic and who is interested in the big?
The Lakers aren't among the teams seeking to trade for Vucevic (and they're uninterested in Raptors center Jakob Poeltl), but the Warriors are interested in the Bulls center, Stein reported. However, the Warriors have hesitated to offer more than second-round picks in draft capital for Vucevic, Stein added.
Vucevic has been one of the few standouts for a middling Bulls squad this season, averaging a double-double. The Warriors, meanwhile, might be seeking to squeeze out a playoff push with their aging core. But their recent struggles have moved them outside the race in the Western Conference.
