‘Get Their Faces’: Ari Fleischer on Fox News Urges Government to Deport Any Trump Tower Protestor Who Is Not a Citizen

Former Bush White House Press Secretary Ari Fleischer suggested on Thursday the use of facial recognition technology to identify and deport the protestors who occupied Trump Tower.

The demonstration took place Thursday afternoon in New York City. There, dozens of protestors filled the lobby and demanded the release of Mahmoud Khalil, the Columbia University graduate student who was detained over the weekend ahead of government ordered deportation. Critics of the move — which was carried out by ICE and ordered by Secretary of State Marco Rubio — have pointed out the fact that Khalil had not been formally charged with a crime. President Donald Trump, however, vowed that the arrest would be the “first of many” as he looks to crack down on anti-Israel demonstrations.

Thursday’s demonstration was organized by Jewish Voice for Peace, a left-wing group that opposes Zionism and faced harsh criticism for its statement in response to Hamas’s attack on Oct. 7. Members held up signs calling for Khalil’s release and wore shirts that read, “Not In Our Name.”

In response to the images of the protest, Fleischer called for the government to identify any protestors who aren’t citizens and deport them.

“I make two big points here,” Fleischer said on Outnumbered. “One, I’m gonna start with the speech facade, the myth that this is about speech. What happened to Mahmoud Khalil had nothing to do with speech. It has everything to do with creating an encampment that is where Zionists are prohibited, where Jewish students are not allowed to walk on their own campus. These are crimes. These are deportable events. These are things that we would never tolerate.

“As for all these people who are now in Trump Tower, I hope that this administration will do what the Biden administration did to the January 6th people who walked inside the Capitol. They have the technology. Get their faces, match it up with the database, and if any of them are non-citizens, every one of them is trespassing. They all should be deported from this country, too.”
