Each week during the 2025 season, we’re going through the Eagles media guide to find an interesting nugget.
The Eagles’ PR staff does a great job filling out these little oddities in the media guide and they serve as a good way to meet the players behind the helmets.
This week we chatted with offensive lineman Brett Toth, who has on his bucket list: “Seeing the Northern Lights with his wife, who used to live in Alaska.”
Me: The Northern Light were in the news this week. Some chances to see them. Did you get to?
Toth: No, I did not. I also know with the light pollution around here, it would be a lot tougher to see it. The way I envision it, because she lived in Alaska, how pure it is up there, you’re away from a lot of cities and stuff so it’s as pure as you can get. Yeah, so a part of me wouldn’t want to … I want to see it in its fullest.
Me: I get that. So she’s seen it a bunch I’m assuming?
Toth: Yeah. I think possibly to the point where it wouldn’t hit her the same way it hits me, having never really seen that clean version of it. It’s also one of those things where it’s football season. I’m not out here stargazing. I’m trying to get right for whatever week we have.

Me: Yeah, that’s fair. She would probably think it’s cool to watch you watch it, though.
Toth: Yeah. Absolutely. And also having a son now, who you know has never seen it.
Me: I’ve only ever seen it last October where it was pretty cool. I haven’t seen the full …
Toth: Exactly! You always want to experience that. That’s in a later part of your life when you’ve made it to a more secure position to have that kind of free time.
Me: Have you been to Alaska at all?
Toth: Never.
Me: So is that on the bucket list in terms of just the trip?
Toth: Yeah. And also see where she grew up as well because they were stationed in Anchorage, Alaska.
Me: So she was a kid?
Toth: Yeah, she was an Army brat and they were stationed there.
Me: So you want to see the whole thing up there?
Toth: Exactly. Just a little nostalgia for her and just experience what she might have experienced growing up.
Me: Anything else on the bucket list that’s not the Aurora?
Toth: Shoot. Been going just kind of putting them in notes. Learn how to surf in Hawaii. Make authentic pasta in Italy. Umm, just experienced cultures and what they’re known for I feel like is a huge part of what we would like to do when it’s all said and done.
Me: So you actually keep a list of those things?
Toth: Yeah.
Me: An actual list.
Toth: Let me pull it out and see. This is all stuff like that. (Pulls out phone) Workout in Venice Beach. Carnival in Brazil. Those are some cool ones. Just experiencing other cultures in full display.
Me: I got you. Thanks, man. I appreciate it.
Toth: No problem.
