Man, 68, dies hours after truck driver in Bronx strikes him in his legs

A 68-year-old man died after he was struck by a truck driver in the Bronx, cops said.

The victim was in the middle of the crosswalk walking south on Oct. 28 around 12:23 p.m. at E. 149th St. and Third Ave. in Isuzu box truck heading west on E. 149th St. struck him, injuring his legs.

EMS transported the man to Lincoln Hospital where he was initially in stable condition but later died of his injuries around 7:02 p.m. His identity was being withheld as cops first try to notify his family members.

The truck driver stayed on scene.

No arrests have been made and the NYPD Highway District Collision Investigation Squad is investigating the fatal incident.
