One of Cloud’s last red carpet appearances was in April, at a PUBG MOBILE x Rockstar Energy Drink event in Los Angeles. Cloud was a longtime ambassador for Rockstar, having starred in a 2022 campaign for the brand and hosting events at ComplexCon and Art Basel.
The actor attended the Red Sea International Film Festival in Saudi Arabia in December with his own take on red carpet attire. Never one to conform to a traditional dress code, Cloud walked the carpet in a Gucci x Adidas tracksuit.
Cloud was the face of Polo Ralph Lauren and Ralph Lauren fragrances, and attended the designer’s spring/summer 2023 runway show with his version of preppy Americana.
Cloud was honored at Variety’s 2022 Power Of Young Hollywood event, which recognized the up-and-coming stars making an impact on the film and television industries.
Cloud commanded the attention of the fashion community, for his ability to slip into a tux as easily as he did a T-shirt and trousers. He quickly became a front-row staple at fashion weeks around the world, like at this AMI Alexandre Mattiussi show in Paris.
One of Cloud’s biggest thrills was working with last interviews before his death, Cloud gave a shout-out to the designer, thanking him for “always willing to hear me out and collaborate.”
“I love the fact that he came up on his own and built a brand for himself in a really competitive industry,” Cloud said. “It shows how hard Mike worked and I admire that.”
Cloud also collaborated with a number of more mainstream brands, from the aforementioned Rockstar Energy to FILA, who tapped the actor for their spring 2022 collection.
The Oakland native always made any red carpet appearance his own, deftly mixing his love for streetwear with more formal pieces. Always classy but never conservative, Cloud’s ability to mix casualwear with luxury continues to impact the way Young Hollywood dresses today.
Case in point: showing up to Ralph Lauren’s fall 2022 fashion show with a hat and windbreaker-style jacket over a formal suit.
Cloud’s Euphoria character, Fezco, was known for his love of Nineties-inspired pieces, bold colors and oversized fits, all of which seemed to creep into the actor’s real-life style as well.
While Cloud was often photographed in designer threads, the things the actor bought for himself were decidedly more simple. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Cloud listed a few of his favorite things: disposable cameras, a good notebook and lip balm.
Cloud passed away July 31 at his home in Oakland. He was 25.
