Trump Files $15 Billion Farcical Lawsuit Against The New York Times

Since Shari Redstone and Paramount were bend the knee the moment they made eye contact with him.

He’s not even pretending to have an actual defamation claim. He’s just mad they didn’t endorse him, to the tune of $15 billion.

This is a stunningly pathological lawsuit even by Trumpian standards. It reads as if he was holding a gun to the head of the child of the lawyer drafting it.

This is just rank extortion, more proof that the Republican Party is nothing more than a discount mafia cosplay. If the Times settles like Paramount did, then they can no longer call themselves journalists either. CBS News is Trump news now, that’s the brand that Paramount and its new partner Skydance are aiming for as they get ready to hand it over to braindead Bari Weiss. The good news is that the Times is not driven by soulless capitalist lizard people willing to sell out their dignity and basic humanity for a multi-billion dollar paycheck (as far as we know), and there is no impending Times merger the Trump FCC needs to approve. All indications are they will fight this nonsense.

And it’s important to remember that Trump keeps losing when he goes to court. All he has to really bail him out is the John Roberts Supreme Court, the biggest group of soulless toadies the American bench has ever seen. Just last night an appeals court struck down his attempt to fire Fed Governor Lisa Cook for the audacity of being a successful Black woman working under a white man who won’t do what Trump wants him to do and remake all the worst mistakes of the 1970s. Trump and the GOP talk a big game, but like their diversion of National Guard troops from blue states to red states (the ICE and DHS agents still stay and terrorize blue cities, though), these numbskulls have a hard time accomplishing everything they say they want to do because laws still are real to some degree and they are the dumbest fascists man has ever seen. Complying in advance is simply giving the most incompetent people alive an unearned win, and ensuring that you will join the failed brands like CBS News in an America where Trump is currently 19 percent favorable and 69 percent unfavorable with Independents.

This is authoritarianism, but it’s pretty incompetent authoritarianism. This ‘the Times didn’t endorse me’ $15 billion temper tantrum should get thrown out of any court in America with a shred of self-respect, the question now is whether America still has any.
