In the clip, the expat teacher said: “The biggest differences between teaching in a school in Dubai VS a school in the UK.”

She revealed she has been working in the country for six years now and revealed that school days often start earlier than in England.

The teacher also revealed that teachers often have help from specialists to help the kids learn PE and music, while in the UK they are expected to teach them all.

While in the UK, schools will often have ‘wet play’ when it rains too much for children to go outside, in Dubai they have ‘hot play’ when it’s too hot to leave the building.

As for working in Dubai, she said as salaries are tax-free she earns a lot more than working in UK schools.

And that’s not all, the teacher revealed they often have their housing, flights and private healthcare paid for when working overseas.

Another difference is that you get an end-of-service gratuity as they don’t have pension payments in the United Arab Emirates.

The teacher added that another positive working abroad was that you had more free lessons so you can get on with admin work, unlike in the UK where many have to do it in their own time.

She added: “Overall, moving to teach in the UAE from the UK was 100% the best thing I’ve ever done.

“Personally, my work-life balance is so much better than it was in the UK.”

The clip has since gone viral on her TikTok account @thatexpatteacher with over 190k views and 3,800 likes.

Many took to the comments to share their thoughts and ask for help moving abroad.

One person wrote: “I’m in the UK and we don’t have any specialists at all, not even for PE! We teach literally everything, it’s ridiculous.”

Another commented: “Please I need you to help me with more tips on how to become a teacher in the UAE.”

Nice. I would love to work there,” penned a third.

How easy is it to move abroad?

Brexit means British citizens now have to apply for visas to move to countries within the EU. While some countries residency restrictions are easier than others, here's what you need to do at home before moving:

  • Notify HMRC about your upcoming move.
  • Let your local authority know and provide a forwarding address.
  • Contact your mortgage and utility providers and bank before leaving.
  • If you have paid enough UK national insurance contributions, you can qualify for a state pension abroad – contact the International Pension Centre.
  • You can sign up to the Royal Mail’s redirection service.
  • If you have outstanding student loans, contact the Student Loans Centre.
  • If you have children, give due notice to childcares and schools.

Meanwhile a fourth said: “Well done!”

“Thanks for sharing. I’m assuming you’re a primary teacher?” claimed a fifth.
