A MUM has been labelled a “genius” after sharing the clever hack she used to save herself hundreds on wallpaper.
Katie has been decorating her daughter’s bedroom, turning it into a “big girl room”.
She explained in a video on her TikTok page that she hadn’t wanted to shell out loads on the transformation – especially on wallpaper – so came up with an idea to create a wallpaper “effect” instead.
“When you don’t want to pay hundreds for wallpaper,” she wrote over the top of the clip.
Katie then showed herself applying a large stencil, which she’d picked up from Amazon, to the green walls, carefully taping it to keep it in place.
She then took a roller loaded with a paler green, and painted over the top of the stencil.

When she removed the stencil, a gorgeous pattern with woodland animals and flowers was revealed beneath.
“Her big girl room is going to be my fave room in the house!” Katie gushed.
“OBSESSED!” she added in the caption.
And people in the comments section were quick to praise her, with one writing: “Omg I love this! What a fantastic idea!!!”
