TODAY FM star Dec Pierce has revealed he’s been diagnosed with breast cancer – just two years after suffering a brain haemorrhage.
The Block Rockin’ Beats presenter, who survived the life-threatening stroke back in 2022, told fans he’ll “come back stronger again”.


Dec took to breast cancer.
The radio star wrote: “Earlier this year, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. After the brain haemorrhage two years ago, it’s not something I ever thought I’d be facing – but here we are, and I’m taking it one step at a time.”
He added that he has already undergone two surgeries at the Mater Private and is now focusing on recovery and the next stage of his treatment.
The DJ went on to thank everyone who has supported him through the “tough” experience.

He said: “I want to give my deepest thanks to the amazing medical teams who’ve looked after me, and to my family and friends for their love, strength, and support. I couldn’t do this without them.”
The popular presenter, who has worked at Today FM for eight years, also praised his team for their understanding throughout his recovery.
He continued: “I also want to say a huge thank you to my bandmates, crew, manager and everyone at Today FM for standing by me and keeping everything moving while I focus on getting well. Your support means the world.”
Dec said he decided to speak publicly because it’s “important to know that men can get breast cancer too”.

The Dublin star urged anyone with symptoms to “please get it checked” and reminded fans that early detection can save lives.
He then added: “This journey has been tough, but I’ve come back before and I’ll come back stronger again. Music is healing, and that will never change. Cancer cannot beat me.”
Fans and friends all flocked to the comments to show their love and support.

TOUGH TIME
Back in 2023, Dec was rushed to hospital after suffering a brain haemorrhage and spent eight days in Beaumont Hospital where he received treatment.
Luckily, when sharing the news he told fans that he had made a full recovery and had since returned home.
He opened up about the terrifying ordeal and said that he was “blessed beyond words” to be alive.
The doting father shared a heartwarming black and white photo as he hugged his young daughter.
He wrote alongside the image: “On Tuesday I got home after eight days in hospital following a brain haemorrhage.
