Gates McFadden

I wanted to add that Gates McFadden(famous for playing Doctor Crusher on Star Trek) is restoring a theater here in Languedoc but I don't have a lot of information, or was even sure where to add it, so I thought I'd just add it here and someone could do with it what they want.

Lunel

Does anyone know if the town of Lunel is/was in Languedoc or the Provence? It's not written up yet. JFW | T@lk 13:53, 13 Jun 2004 (UTC)

Lunel was part of the province of Languedoc. Now it is part of the region of Languedoc-Roussillon. Hardouin 16:15, 2 Aug 2004 (UTC)

Langue d'Oc and Langue d'Oeïl

French languages are divided into two broad groups (and corresponding proto-languages): Langue d'Oeïl, which used oeïl to mean yes (the French language itself is in this group), and Langue d'Oc, which used oc to mean yes (Provençal belongs in this group). Is this the origin of the name Languedoc? Should it be mentioned? --Taejo 18:18, 5 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Link Spam

Looks like there's a low level edit war going on between Alexgregbiba (pushing the commercial Creme du Languedoc site) and Mpprh (pushing the equally commercial Languedoc-page site). They take it in turns to add their own site and delete the other's. I suspect that both have been removing useful links as well (don't know why ??) so it might be worth restoring the external links as they were before these two started their vandalism. What does anyone else think? In any case they need watching Languedocienne 18:49, 18 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Nonsensical sentence

Removed the following sentence as it makes very little sense:

Married 1511 with Catharine de Sainte-Colombe, daughter of Bérenger de Sainte-Colombe from Houpia, and Honorine Dufaur de Saint-Jorry had a son: Pontus De la Gardie, born 1520, dead 1585. Garrigues

I am currently proposing that the Garrigues page should be replaced by the content now found on the Garrigues (disambiguation) page and the the material presently on the Garrigues page should be moved to a new page to be titled Les Garrigues, Catalonia If you have the time I would appreciate your comments on the Discussion page at Garrigues. Lyme Disease/Morgellons Disease

Is anyone reading this aware of a past or present history of Lyme disease and what is now considered an associated condition,Morgellons Disease, in the area?
