Use the Playback pane in Podcasts settings to specify playback, skip buttons, and headphone controls options.
To change these settings, choose Podcasts > Settings, then click Playback.

Description
Continuous Playback
Select what happens when an episode ends.
Continue playing after an episode ends: Automatically play the next episode in the Playing Next queue.
Stop when an episode ends: Stop playback.
Skip Buttons
Choose the amount of time the Skip Forward and Skip Back buttons jump in the podcast, from 10 seconds to 60 seconds.
Headphone Controls
Select how headphone controls advance the podcast.
Next/Previous: Play the next or previous episode.
Forward/Back: Automatically skip ahead (in 30-second increments) or go back (in 15-second increments) in the same episode.
Use the Advanced pane in Podcasts settings to specify options for hiding played episodes and showing Siri Suggestions.
To change these settings, choose Podcasts > Settings, then click Advanced.
Hide Played Episodes
Hide episodes that you fully played or marked as played. (This setting only applies to shows you follow.)
Show Siri Suggestions
Allow Siri to learn from and make suggestions based on your use of Podcasts.
