Too wide for Toyota Auris dashboard

Upon putting this item in my car, it was immediately apparent that it is about 1.5in too big for the small dashboard in my Toyota Auris. But I still use it anyway by centrally positioning it so that only a little hangs off on each side.
I specifically bought this because I needed something that would be sturdy enough to hold my large/heavy Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra phone during long journeys. Any other bits and bobs can go into the compartments that are out of eyeshot from thieves.
Anyway, it does the job! I was concerned that the phone would topple over (due to its weight) during sharp turns and speed bumps, but the phone grip on this thing handles sharp turns and bumps like a pro.
With all that said, it does what I bought it for, and for that reason, I am happy with my purchase.
