ManyPets Pet Insurance Overview

Originally branded as "Bought by Many," Spot Pet Insurance offers pet insurance for accidents and illnesses or accidents only. It lets pet owners beef up their protection with a wellness plan add-on similar to ManyPets' wellness rider. Coverage provided by Spot matches ManyPets, and surpasses it in some areas. For example, Spot's Platinum wellness plan covers spaying and neutering. Additionally, Spot does not have upper age limits, while ManyPets has a 14-year age limit for newly enrolled pets.

Spot's plans are also highly flexible, with many coverage options available. Spot's deductible options range from $100 to $1,000, and reimbursement options range from 70 to 90%. ManyPets only offers $500 or $750 deductibles and 70% or 80% reimbursement. For example, pet owners can choose from annual coverage limits starting at $2,500 and going up to unlimited.

As mentioned before, veterinary bills can quickly get out of hand, and ManyPets' simple unlimited plan eliminates lower limits that could be disastrous in a pet emergency. On the other hand, Spot's lower coverage limits will reduce monthly premiums but may fall short when pet parents need it most. This said, rates for the two companies' unlimited plans were similar. However, Spot doesn't consider your pet's age when adjusting premiums annually, while ManyPets does.

Overall, Spot outshines ManyPets in several areas, particularly in how it treats older pets. It's premium adjusting policy and no upper age limit make Spot one of the how Business Insider rates pet insurance.
